Adding Inspiration

Inspiration is similar to other record types like Fabrics and Patterns. It has it’s own place in Stash Hub where you can create, edit and delete inspiration records. This inspiration can then be added to Projects in much the same way as other records and if the Project status is “Just an Idea”, then it will be displayed on the overview card.

One of the special features of Inspiration is that if you put in a valid weblink in the Link field it will display a preview of that link, as well as use the preview information on the inspiration card.

Organising Inspiration

The primary method for managing and organising your inspiration is with Tags. These work the same as Tags throughout the rest of the app and you can apply Filters to narrow down your collection of inspiration.

Once you’ve “used” the inspiration or it isn’t relevant anymore, you can mark it as Archived and it will be filtered out by default but still be part of your Stash.

Magic Input

Magic Input is the fastest way to input information into Stash Hub

Instead of filling out each field individually, you can either copy and paste a shop URL or write/paste all the fabric information into one text box and let the magic do the rest.

We developed this feature to speed up the process of adding your stash to the app.

Magic Input from URL

This version of Magic Input means you can take the URL/weblink of a fabric from an online shop and it will generate a new fabric record from that URL (including the image). You can also enter an optional “Purchased Length” at the time of submission. There will be a loading time of around 5-10 seconds whilst magic input performs the process of turning a URL into a record.

Magic Input from Text

If you don’t have the URL of the fabric, you can instead use simple prose to describe it. Below are some examples of what you could write but in reality it can work with just a simple sentence.

How to Use the Stash Hub Community Forum

The Stash Hub forum is a great place to connect with fellow users, share ideas, ask questions, and get support. Whether you’re just getting started or want to make the most of all the features, this guide will help you navigate the forum effectively.

Basic Usage

Joining the Forum

The forum is available to everyone here: https://forum.stashhubapp.com. You can view the topics without an account but if you’d like to join in the conversation you need to create an account by clicking Sign Up. The account you create is separate from your Stash Hub account (although we’re looking into integrating them in the future).

Submitting a Post

Posting on the forum is simple:

Click the “New Topic” button.
Choose the appropriate category for your post.
Add a title that clearly describes your topic.
Write your message in the editor, using formatting tools if needed.
Click “Create Topic” to publish your post.

Replying and Reacting to a Topic

Engaging with existing discussions is easy:

Click into the topic
Click the Reply button below a post to add a response.
Use the Like button (heart icon) to show appreciation f

Project Queue

The Projects Queue in Stash Hub is a great way to plan your upcoming sewing projects. To access the Queue, tap of the Projects title at the top, and switch to Queue on the drop-down menu.

Press and hold on a project card to add it to the Queue. You can choose to add a project to either the top or the bottom of the queue. Switch to the Queue page to view your project queue. You can rearrange the order of projects in the Queue by pressing and holding on a project card and selecting whether to move this project to the top, bottom, up or down in the queue. If you remove a project from your Queue it will still be visible in Projects, it just won’t be on your to-sew list. When a project’s status is updated to ‘complete’ it is automatically removed from the Queue.

My top tip for using the Project Queue in Stash Hub is not to add too many projects at once. Start by adding a few projects – perhaps your plans for the next month – to avoid feeling overwhelmed with a massive to-sew list.

Question 5

Creating an account

It is free to create a Stash Hub account. You can use either an email and password, Google Sign-in or Apple Sign-in.

If using email and password, make sure it’s an email you own and the password needs to be at least 6 characters long. It is strongly recommended to use a password manager and generate a random secure password. If you forget your Stash Hub password there is an option to reset password at the log in page. This will send a password reset link to your email inbox, so it’s really important to make sure your email address is entered correctly when setting up your account.

Using Google or Apple Sign-in is easier and means you don’t need to remember another password. You can log into your Stash Hub account on multiple devices and your sewing collection will sync between them. Please note that if you create an account with Apple Sign-in you won’t be able to log into your Stash Hub account on Android devices.

Every account will have a unique User ID, which you can find at the bottom of the Settings page underneath the Logout button. If you ever run into difficulty with Stash Hub, please copy and paste your User ID into your email describing the issue and send to us at hello@stashhubapp.com.

Updating your default home page

We know everyone likes to use Stash Hub differently which is why you can choose your home page. I.e. which part of the app is shown when you first open the app.

To set your default start page just go to Settings > Customisation and at the bottom of this page is a drop down to select your preferred start page.

Note: this will only set it for that device. If you use Stash Hub on multiple devices you’ll need to set it on each of them.
