How to use the Wishlist

Got your eye on some gorgeous new supplies, but trying to avoid impulse purchases? Add them to your Wishlist in Stash Hub so you can save them for later and make a more considered decision.

What is the Wishlist?

Wishlist is a record status that can be applied to Fabric, Pattern and Notion records. You can use it to keep track of supplies you are considering buying, without mixing them in with the items you already own.

How to add an item to your Wishlist

1. Add the Fabric, Pattern or Notion to your Stash Hub catalogue, either manually or using Magic Input.
2. Open the record and tap the Status shown near the top of the details page, beneath the record title.
3. Select Wishlist.

The item will now appear in your Wishlist until you update its status.

How to view your Wishlist

Go to your Fabric, Pattern or Notion collection and tap the status quick filter at the top-left.
Select Wishlist to see all the records you've saved to your wishlist.
There are separate wishlists for Fabric, Pattern and Notions.

What happens when you buy something?

Once you purchase an item from your Wishlist, open its record and update the status to reflect its new place in your stash.
Once the status is updated, this item will no longer show on with Wishlist Quick filter. For Fabric records, statuses including Preordered, Uncut and Remnant will appear under the Unused quick filter.

You may also want to add further details to the record, such as:

• Where you purchased it
• How much you paid
• The date it was ordered
• Quantity ordered (for Fabrics and Notions)
• Format (for Patterns)

Benefits of using the Wishlist

Make more considered purchases

Saving an item to your Wishlist gives you time to think about whether it will genuinely work with your existing stash and sewing plans.
Instead of buying something immediately, you can return to it later and decide whether you still want it.

Shop more intentionally during sales

When a shop launches a sale, check your Wishlist before browsing everything on offer.
This can help you save money on items you already know you like, rather than being tempted by something simply because it has been reduced.

Remember your project ideas

You can link Wishlist items to planned Projects, allowing you to save ideas that involve supplies you do not own yet.
This makes it easier to remember why you liked an item and what you intended to make with it.

Compare similar options

If you are choosing between several fabrics, patterns or notions, add each option to your Wishlist. You can then review them together before deciding which one best suits your project, budget and existing stash.

Keep owned and unowned items separate

Using the Wishlist status lets you catalogue useful product details without making it look as though the item is already part of your stash.
It also means that when you do purchase it, you only need to update the existing record rather than entering all the information again.
